Thank-you to those families that came and met with me for Parent Teacher Interviews last week. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with your about your child. I can see why I have such wonderful students when they have such a supportive and involved group of parents. Your efforts at home make a huge difference in your child at school.
If you were not able to come in last week and would like to schedule a time to come and meet with me, please feel free to write me a note in your child's agenda. I am happy to to make time to meet but need to plan in advance. Thank-you for your understanding.
Themes This Week:
Phonics- we will be finishing up our long vowels review this week and begin reviewing sh, ch and th blends.
Reading: We will be reading levelled stories this week about Oceans.
Writing: Our writing lessons this week will be learning and reviewing what makes a sentence complete and the punctuation and capitals that must accompany them
Math: Number Sequence Patterns this week. We will be looking about numbers and trying to unlock the pattern with the right addition equation. (i.e. 1,4,7,10, 13) This is a plus 3 patterns.
Social Studies: We have been learning about communities and what makes up a community as well as different types of communities. Students may come home using the words, urban and rural.
Science: This will be our last week learning about the Ocean. We will be learning about Killer Whales, Dolphins and Coral this week.
Artistic Studies: We will be doing some special art for the PAC fundraiser. They will be turning our class art into cards that will be available for purchase! More info will be coming home regarding this exciting project.
